Fallen colleagues honoured at the CoPS service of Remembrance
Trustee C/Supt. Gordon Crossan attended this special event representing the Trust.
POLICE officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice – and their surviving family members – have been remembered at the 15th annual Care of Police Survivors (CoPS) Annual Service of Remembrance held at the National Memorial Arboretum on 30th July.
The service, which closed the CoPS annual survivors weekend, was well attended by representatives from across the UK, with the Police Dependants’ Trust represented this year by trustee C/Supt. Crossan. Also in attendance were the riders from the UK Police Unity tour cycle ride, who arrived in time having ridden from the Police Memorial in London to the National Arboretum raising money for the CoPS charity.
A spokesperson for the Police Dependants’ Trust said, “We are proud to be asked by CoPS to attend this event, and whilst it has been a very emotional day for all concerned, we have honoured our fallen colleagues here today – CoPS should be really proud of a job well done, and everyone at the Police Dependants’ Trust hopes to be back in 2018.”
