Volunteer Ambassador

Thanks for expressing an interest in becoming a Police Dependants’ Trust Ambassador Volunteer.

The Police Dependants’ Trust’s vision is that ‘The Welfare needs of the Police family are upheld and they are supported to achieve their full potential’.

To do this the Police Dependants’ Trust has decided to set up a volunteers Programme. We believe volunteers can reflect the interests and needs of the Police Family and extend the scope of our support to provide a more personalised service to members of the Police family affected by death on duty or serious physical or psychological injury. In side this pack you will find the following information:

  • A Police Dependants’ Trust Leaflet
  • Information on the Volunteer Recruitment process
  • Role descriptions for the Ambassador role

Please read through all the information carefully. If you decide that the role is right for you, and you wish to register your interest, please click the button on the right and complete the application form.

If successful you will be given a copy of the volunteers’ handbook and further training as needed. This will provide you with what you need to know to make your volunteering experience with us a worthwhile and enjoyable one.

All those who work with us, in whatever capacity, can expect to enter into a partnership which has at its core a clear commitment to providing the highest quality service to vulnerable people. We therefore have high expectations of our volunteers. This of course is a voluntary arrangement – it is binding in honour only and you are free to withdraw at any time.

Please be aware that there are limited volunteer opportunities available and we may not be able to offer you a suitable role at the time of your application. We will, however, hold your application for up to 6 months and offer you the opportunity to apply again when we have more volunteer opportunities in your area.

I hope you find the information in this pack useful and feel free to contact me regarding any queries you have about your volunteering.

Yours faithfully,

Claire Craigie
Volunteer Manager
