Participants sought for new TV documentary on assaulted officers

The Assaults on Emergency workers Act became law earlier this month, and it’s journey through the legislative process has seen a marked rise in awareness levels among the general public to the number of assaults on frontline personnel on a daily basis.

Channel 5 have commissioned Reef Television to produce a 5-part series on what life is like for police officers and PCSO’s on the frontline, and the impact that an assault sustained whilst on duty has had on them.

Laura Ellis, Producer for the programme, said, “We want our audience to think hard about the way they interact with the police and make it clear that assaulting an officer is never acceptable.”
