Be a Volunteer Ambassador

81% of Police Officers in the UK are injured on duty during their service, and less than 20% of them know that the Police Dependants’ Trust is there to help. That is why throughout June, with the backing of the service, we are recruiting Ambassadors for the Police Dependants’ Trust. Volunteering as part of a team in each force, duties will include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships within your force that benefit injured officers.
  • Distributing leaflets and informational packets to teams and stations within your force.
  • Giving occasional presentations within the force and local area to promote the work of the charity.
  • Be a point of contact within the force for information about the Police Dependants’ Trust.

If you are friendly with good communication skills and want to get involved, we want to hear from you. In return for a couple of hours a month (completely flexible), we will provide training, dedicated support, reimburse expenses, and offer a real opportunity to make a difference.

“It’s surprising how few people know about the Trust, I’ve been telling everyone I know who has been injured on duty, to go on to the Website and get registered. If I can assist one officer and their family to make their lifestyle better and to give them some sound advice and support then it is a very worthwhile job.”
