Thin blue line ball a huge success
2017 will be hailed as the year of the inaugural Thin Blue Line ball, which raised over £8,000 for police charities.
The ball, held on Saturday 15th April at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, was the brainchild of Thin Blue Line volunteers who are raising money for the Police Dependants’ Trust and CoPS. With over 120 people attending, plus a whole host of amazing auction prizes, plans are already underway for the 2018 event. Among the attendees was Gordon Crossan, trustee for the Police Dependants’ Trust who said, “it was an amazing night of entertainment and fundraising for these important police charities. The Police Dependants’ Trust is a lifeline for those officers who are injured, and the work to support them and their loved ones will never end. That’s why we are so grateful to the volunteers of the Thin Blue Line Ball for all their hard work and fundraising efforts.”
The Thin Blue Line have been fundraising for the Police Dependants’ Trust for the last five years, through the selling of merchandise on their website. The Ball saw people from across the UK, and international guests from the USA.
