Welfare That Works: Three things you can do TODAY

Nov 23, 2016Police Dependants' Trustnews and events, Uncategorized

We have published the results of our research into the support that’s available when officers and staff suffer an injury on duty, along with a brand new film about our work.

There are three simple things you can do TODAY to help us share the Welfare That Works message…

Read our research reports: Our research exposes the scale of ‘invisible injuries’ in the police service, revealing that mental health illnesses are twice as likely to force officers and staff to take significant time off work than physical injuries. You can read a summary of the research reports or download the full serving officers/staff research report and former officers report.

Watch our new film: Featuring stories from two of the thousands of families we have helped, our short film highlights the range of support available to officers and their loved ones. Watch the film now.

Talk to your colleagues: If you know someone who has suffered a physical or psychological injury on duty, encourage them to register with us whether they need help now or not. It’s a simple process that takes just minutes but one which enables us to provide support swiftly when it’s needed most.
